Detoxifying & Healing For Problem Skin

Bentonite has been used for hundreds of years as an effective, all natural healing clay. It consists of aged volcanic ash also known as Montmorillonite. The name comes from the largest known deposit of bentonite clay located in Fort Benton, Montana. It is an odorless grey/cream color with an almost soft, very fine consistency. Unlike some other clays, it doesnt stain and is easy to work with in beauty and natural remedy recipes.

When Bentonite comes in contact with a toxin, chemical, or heavy metal, the clay draws out and absorbs the toxins, releasing minerals to the body to use. Bentonite has a powerful negative charge which bonds readily to the positive charge in many toxins.

* Avoid metal utensils or bowls when mixing your Bentonite Clay as this negates the charge and makes it less effective. *

Use as a detoxifying facial to deep clean pores and smooth the skin. Good for skin irritations, blemishes, insect bites, cuts, itching and burns. Can be especially calming to skin itching from eczema, psoriasis, chicken pox and poison ivy.

Measuring scoop (one tablespoon) included.

Instructions for Use (Do not let Bentonite come into contact with anything metal, as this will reduce the effectiveness of the treatments.)

Clay Facial Mix one tablespoon (scoopful) of clay with a tablespoon of warm water to make a smooth paste. If mixture is too thin, add more clay, if too thick, add more water. Apply a medium layer to the face and upper part of the neck, avoiding the eye area. Leave on to dry to allow toxins and any impurities to be drawn to the surface. You will feel the skin grow tight as the mask dries. Remove the mask first by gently rubbing in a circular motion with water for an overall exfoliation. Wash off any excess mud mask with lukewarm water and gently pat dry. If desired, apply a small amount of Best of Nature Rose Water or Vitamin E Oil to finish off the treatment. This treatment is especially effective on acne-prone skin.

Poultice For Bug Bites, Stings, Burns Create a poultice by adding warm water to a small amount of Bentonite Clay (the amount depends upon the area to be treated). Apply to problem area and wrap a wet gauze or cloth over it and leave on for an hour or two. You can also add a very small amount of body oil such as Olive, Almond or Avocado to the mixture to nourish the skin. As the mixture dries it is normal to feel a tightening of the skin. Wash area with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

Poultice For Problem Skin & Rashes For discomfort due to eczema, psoriasis, and rashes from chicken pox or poison ivy, mix a small amount of Bentonite with warm water to make a paste. Test on a small area first. Apply Bentonite/water mixture and leave on until it dries. Wash off with warm water and pat dry with a towel.

Mud Pack For Back Acne Mix a small amount of Bentonite with warm water to make a paste. If desired add a few drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil (excellent for acne) to the recipe. Lie on your stomach and have someone apply a medium layer to area of back to be treated. Leave on until the mixture dries. You will feel a tightening of the skin this is normal and means the Bentonite is drawing the oil and impurities from the skin. Once dry, wash off in the shower and towel dry. Apply one to three times a week until acne clears.

Detoxifying Bath Mix 6 to 8 scoops of Bentonite in a warm bath. Use a whisk if desired to mix the Bentonite thoroughly into the water. Soak for 15 to 30 minutes for a relaxing, detoxifying, skin softening bath. Towel dry and apply a moisturizer.

Detoxifying Foot Bath Mix 4 scoops of Bentonite in a foot bath (any container will do as long as its not metal and its big enough for your feet to fit comfortably) of warm water. Use a whisk if desired to mix Bentonite thoroughly into water. Soak for 15 to 30 minutes for a relaxing, detoxifying foot bath. Towel dry your feet and apply a moisturizer.

Detoxifying Foot Mask Mix two tablespoons (scoopfuls) of clay with two tablespoons of warm water to make a smooth paste. If mixture is too thin, add more clay, if too thick, add more water. Apply a thick layer to the soles of your feet. You wont be able to walk around so you can try hanging your feet over the arm of a chair or anything similar which works for your comfort. Leave on to dry to allow toxins and any impurities to be drawn to the surface. You will feel the skin grow tight as the mask dries. Remove the mask first by gently rubbing in a circular motion with water for an overall exfoliation. Wash off any excess mud mask with lukewarm water and gently pat dry with a towel. Apply a moisturizer.
